5 Reasons to Use a Travel Agent in 2025

5 Reasons to Use a Travel Agent for Your 2025 Vacation
Some people think that using a travel agent is outdated but I’m going to tell you 5 reasons why using a travel agent is the best choice.
I know this from firsthand experience of course. Growing up, my family used a travel agent. We would take summer vacations every year with my extended family. To coordinate travel for 20 people, my grandma relied on the same travel agent that would recommend that best destinations and find the most suitable accommodations for our adventurous crew.
Perhaps it was these trips that inspired me to become a travel agent myself, or just my natural urge to explore. Either way, here I am today, a travel agent specializing in Disney and Universal vacations.

Weather you have used a travel agent before or never have, here are 5 reasons why you should definitely consider using a travel agent for your next vacation.
1. Expert Knowledge
Experience
Travel agents bring years of experience and resources to the table to help you plan your perfect trip. I’ve been going to Disney and Universal every year since I was a kid so I know those parks inside and out. I know how to book your trip, how to navigate the parks, and how to make your experience smoother.
Not only do travel agents have experience with the destination, they have experience with how to get there. Are you a new mom traveling with kids? I got you! As the oldest of four siblings and now a mom myself, I have traveled with kids of all ages- whether on a plane, road trips, or long train rides. I can help you pack, prepare, and make those long travel days much easier.
Resources
Choose a travel agent that has experience in the destination you want to visit or the type of travel (cruise, all inclusive, etc…). Do they go there frequently? Does the agency have a specialization? Are you also looking for help navigating a country you where you don’t speak the language? It’s important to find a travel agent that can help in all aspects of your trip by providing resources specific to your needs.

2. Planning Help
Convenience
Let’s be real, planning a trip is way more than just the click of a button. It takes time to research the best accommodations, find activities, and stay within budget. That’s where a travel agent comes in. I’ll do all the legwork for you, saving you time and stress. I’ll find the best options that suit your family’s needs, your interests, and your budget.

Save You Money
A common misconception is that using a travel agent costs more, but in reality, it can save you money. Travel agents are experts at finding the best deals, and they work with you to fit your budget. Plus, when new promotions or deals come up—like at Disney—if you’ve already booked through an agent, they’ll apply the new deal to your trip for you!
Some travel agents do charge a planning fee and this will depend on the agent and host agency. My host agency is Academy Travel and there is no extra fee to book with me! I work on commission, meaning I get paid by the travel provider, not you.

Travel agents are frequent travelers, we know things don’t always go according to plan. A travel agent can help you navigate your flight getting delayed or canceled. While your changing gates at the airport, I’ll be calling your hotel transportation to let them know your new arrival time. Or, if you break your leg the night before your trip, I can help reschedule all the plans, so you can focus on recovering, not on logistics.

5. Helping Out a Small Business
What many people don’t realize is that when you book on your own, the commission is already built into the price. You can either support a big business or support a small business—me, your travel agent! Why not take advantage of this free planning service while supporting small businesses like mine?
